Berrakaw Pet Resort is a truly exceptional and almost magical haven for dogs (and cats). Our boy, Jocko, visits Marietjie and Zaantjie once a term as a holiday escape from the teenagers that love him. He always returns relaxed, joyful, and clearly well cared for. The plot is picturesque, with expanses of green grass where the dogs can run freely, explore, and play to their hearts’ content, surrounded by an abundance of canine companions. What truly distinguishes Berrakaw, however, is the extraordinary team who care for the animals. They are genuinely devoted and remarkably attentive, taking the time to learn each dog’s name, personality, and unique quirks. The love, patience, and individualized attention they provide create an atmosphere that feels more like a loving extended family than a boarding facility. We have complete peace of mind every time we leave our dog there, knowing she is not only safe but thriving, nurtured, and cherished. Berrakaw Pet Resort is an outstanding, heartwarming place, and we recommend it unreservedly to anyone seeking the very best for their pet.
I trusted Berrakaw with our baby Koda and it was a mistake. He was 44 kg when left in their care and arrived at quarantine 39kg and his tail was injured due to him biting it because he was bored, depressed and probably starving. I notified Marietjie via whatsapp that I am unhappy after Koda finally arrived home. She handled the situation by posting his photos on Facebook without my consent and shifting blame to others instead of taking accountability and keeping the matter between us. Please do proper research before leaving your pets with people who paint perfect pictures on fb with their own pets which makes it look like a pet resort. I do not recommend.
I cannot thank Berrakaw Pet Transport enough for the incredible care they gave my four babies—Zadie, Jake, Rocco, and Lilo—in getting them safely to Australia. They are my world, and handing them over was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. From the very beginning, Marietjie and her amazing team kept me calm and reassured. The entire process was made so easy with clear, exact timelines for every vet visit and step along the way. I was never left wondering what was happening. What meant the most to me was the constant communication—daily updates, photos, and videos—which truly gave me peace of mind during such an emotional time. Knowing my babies were being so well cared for made all the difference. Thanks to this beautiful, professional, and compassionate team, all four of my pets arrived safely in Australia with no issues at all. Berrakaw is an absolutely magnificent pet resort. The care provided by these incredibly dedicated people is absolutely unrivalled. The dogs get so much love and attention and live together in perfect harmony, as a pack. The cats have incredibly beautiful accommodation. It is a totally joyful facility, and I would not hesitate to take my dogs to them. I highly recommend them. Definitely 5 stars!
Moving our beloved dogs and cat from South Africa to Australia has been massive step for hubby and I — and perhaps the hardest part of the whole move. Our pets are more than just animals; they’re our family, and we were naturally concerned about their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being on such a long journey. From our first interaction with Berrakaw Pet Transport, we knew we were in the best possible hands. Berrakaw’s team displayed not only professional expertise but genuine compassion for our animals from the start. Our fur-babies had to holiday at Berrakaw Pet Resort for 2 months, prior to their flight out and the love and care they showed our animals was incredible. Their facilities are top notch, clean, welcoming and an overall amazing environment for any animals to stay. The staff at Berrakaw do not just love what they do, they live for it! They took the time to get to know each dog, and our cat, making sure each one of them was comfortable and familiar with their caretakers. Their attention to detail was extraordinary. Every aspect of the process was meticulously planned, from day one throughout the 10 month process, and shared with us, making this long and tedious process an easy one—from vaccinations, documentation, crate sizes tailored for comfort and to handling the complexities of international pet relocation regulations. The kindness, warmth, and respect they showed to us as well as our animals transformed what could have been a stressful experience into one filled with care and ease. Updates along the way reassured us that our fur babies were safe and being lovingly looked after, allowing us regular visits to the resort. It’s clear the Berrakaw team understands the anxiety pet owners feel and they go above and beyond to provide peace of mind. If you’re looking for a team that will treat your pets like their own, like family, who handle every little detail with professionalism, and who genuinely care, I can’t recommend Berrakaw Pet Transport enough.
