This experience was deeply troubling and unacceptable.
As a visitor to Kuwait, I found a stray cat in critical, life-threatening condition and brought it to this animal hospital seeking urgent medical help. I acted out of basic human decency and paid the 35 KD consultation fee in good faith, expecting professional and humane care.
After confirming the cat was severely unwell, the hospital refused to admit or meaningfully assist the animal unless an exorbitant amount of money was paid. I was informed that, as a visitor, I would be required to pay an additional 250 KD “refundable” fee, along with further charges, before the cat would be admitted.
Placing such a significant financial barrier in front of emergency care for a suffering animal is unethical and indefensible. While claiming the fee is “refundable,” the reality is that this practice effectively discourages people from helping injured strays and prioritizes money over animal welfare.
Accepting a consultation fee while withholding care unless excessive payments are made reflects a profound lack of compassion and a failure to uphold basic veterinary ethics. An animal hospital should exist to reduce suffering — not to make emergency care conditional on a person’s residency status or ability to pay extraordinary sums.
This experience was distressing, disappointing, and deeply concerning. I strongly urge others, especially visitors or anyone attempting to help a stray animal, to be aware of these practices.

We had almost lost hope for our cat after visiting a few veterinary clinics in Kuwait where even basic pre-anesthesia bloodwork was not done. Thankfully, we finally came to IVH and met Dr. Vitor, who was incredible from the very beginning. We also met Dr. Gustavo, who was equally amazing.
Cinny was admitted at IVH for several days, and the entire team took exceptional care of her and stabilized her condition. The doctors explained everything thoroughly and patiently at every step, which meant so much to us during such a frightening time. The IVH recovery team sent us daily updates about our cat, and we were allowed to visit her every day. During each visit, the doctors personally came to speak with us and explain her progress in detail.
What truly stands out about IVH is how deeply they care for animals and how well they understand that our pets are our babies.
We are forever grateful to Dr. Vitor, Dr. Gustavo, and the entire IVH team for saving our baby.
Without a doubt, the best veterinary hospital in Kuwait.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the entire IVH team! Recently, our cat Lucy was in critical condition due to kidney failure and had to spend several days in the hospital. Just as in our past visits, the IVH staff were extremely helpful, professional, and responsive during this hard time.
We are so grateful to Dr. Trajano, Dr. Eliana, and Dr. Gustavo for their professionalism. We realize how complex your job is, as your patients cannot speak to tell you what bothers them. However, your assessment of Lucy’s condition was remarkable and truly lifesaving. Thank you for not giving up on him! We want to mention Dr. Emmanuel as well, and thank him for the excellent job he did removing a tumor for Lucy previously.
Additionally, we thank the recovery doctors for ensuring Lucy received the best care, treatment, and follow-up. Special gratitude goes to Anita and Daphnee, the true "cat whisperers," for knowing exactly how to make a frightened animal feel comfortable in the hospital. Thank you also to nurses and helpers for ensuring the animals were always clean, tidy, and well taken care of.
We would like to point out the administration staff for their full support, especially Rizza—the best organizer! Thank you for your empathy and compassion.
Finally, we want to highlight that without proper management, a system like this would not work; attitude reflects leadership.
Thank you IVH team for your excellent work and for understanding that for some people, animals are not just pets, but family.

I want to sincerely thank IVH Hospital for saving my dog’s life. The level of care we received was outstanding. Dr. Vitor, Dr. Julio, and Dr. Cicilia were amazing—knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly dedicated. The nurses were also wonderful; they kept me updated regularly, reassured me, and took excellent care of my dog before, during, and after surgery.
The only downside I have to mention is the management side. While I personally don’t mind paying for high-quality care, the prices are extremely high, and not everyone has the privilege to afford this. It would be amazing if management could consider making the services more accessible, because the medical team and nurses here truly go above and beyond.
Overall, I am so grateful to the doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Vitor who helped my dog and gave him the best chance at recovery and for being so wonderful and friendly.
