Gerhard was exceptional in managing the South African import and arrival process for my dog. His knowledge of the regulations, permits, and on-the-ground procedures is outstanding, and his communication was clear, timely, and reassuring throughout. From customs clearance and state vet inspections to onward travel and final handover, everything was meticulously organised. Gerhard clearly cares deeply about animal welfare, and it showed in how calmly and professionally everything was handled on arrival. Thanks to Gerhard, what could have been a very stressful experience was smooth, efficient, and humane. I highly recommend his service to anyone importing or exporting their pets in SA.
We cannot thank Gerhard and his team enough for the smooth transition of our dogs from Durban to Cape Town! Gerhard's prices are super affordable and reasonable, making re-uniting with our dogs so much more easier! Gerhard communicated well and always ensured to answer any questions and all documents were in order. He had staff to help with the check in of the dogs and collecting them from a pickup point with crates, reducing the fuss we would face walking them into the airport. Kloofzight Pets on Route assisted us with moving our two Rottweilers from Johannesburg, South Africa to Calgary, Alberta. After speaking to multiple pet relocation companies, I found that the quoting process with Gerhard and his team was very transparent and the costs were reasonable and justifiable. From start to finish, Gerhard answered all of our questions patiently and professionally. We were really happy with the information we received, the support he provided and how swiftly Gerhard managed to reunite us with our babies. JJ was excellent with them as well and we could immediately tell that Gerhard and his team don’t just run an excellent business: they are animal lovers and it shows! The huge difference in the approach taken by Kloofzight is that they took the time to prepare the dogs for their travels to Canada - they do not simply ship the animals out like they are ordinary cargo. That made a significant difference in their experience and got them used to being in their crates. Our dogs arrived in excellent condition and were as well taken care of as what we would have them. Thank you so sincerely, we did not think it would be possible to see our dogs again and you made it happen for us. I would give this business 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended.
Mercia and her team were absolutely incredible moving my pet from Nairobi to Cape Town. She moved mountains to meet an import timeline after another company - who I was speaking with first - told me it was “up to (me)” to ask for an expedited timeline. I’m so glad we switched up and went with Pets on Route instead. Mercia managed my stress, was extremely communicative and reassuring and my dog is flying on time thanks to her. I highly recommend Pets on Route for anyone moving a pet domestically or abroad and wanting their pet to be in safe hands
Gerhard and everyone at Kloofzight Pets on Route are great and I would really recommend using them if you need to get your pet anywhere in the world! Gerhard helped me tp get my Cat, Ghost to Australia and he went the extra mile every step of the way, they took excellent care of Ghost when she boarded with them for a few days at their great facilities and she was treated as part of their family. Gerhard is much more affordable than many of the other pet export companies, but despite this he puts his heart and soul into every case. Before moving I use to be a veterinarian in South Africa and often helped them when they bought pets for their vet checks and I can say from first hand experience they take loving care of every pet. I would highly recommend using Gerhard and the team from Kloofzight Pets on Route!
